TiviMate Setup: Add an IPTV Playlist (Xtream & M3U)
Set up TiviMate on Android TV, Google TV or Firestick: add an Xtream Codes or M3U playlist, load the EPG, set favourites and tune the buffer to stop freezing.
Setup
To set up IPTV Smarters Pro: install the app from your device's app store (on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV it is listed as Smarters Player Lite), choose Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter a name, the username, the password and the server URL from your provider. The app then loads live channels, the TV guide, catch-up, movies and series on its own. IPTV Smarters is a player only: it does not come with channels, so you need a subscription from an IPTV provider to watch anything.
IPTV Smarters Pro is one of the most widely used IPTV player apps. People often search for it as "IPTV Smarter" or "Smarters IPTV"; it is the same app. It runs on Android phones and TV boxes, Fire TV, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Windows and Mac, which makes it a good choice for households that mix devices.
What it does not do is supply content. Think of it like a DVD player: it plays what you put in it. The channels come from your IPTV provider through a login or a playlist. Be cautious of any website that bundles "free channels" with the app.
App listings change from time to time. If a store listing looks unofficial, with a different developer name or poor reviews, skip it.
Smarters offers several ways to log in. Your provider gives you the details for both main ones.
http:// and the port number after the colon.Install the desktop app from the developer's official site, open it, choose the Xtream Codes login and enter your details the same way. On a laptop, a wired connection or sitting close to the router makes the biggest difference to stability.
Catch-up: channels with a catch-up icon let you go back through the guide and play shows from the past few days. It is the easiest way to watch a late game the next evening.
Multi-screen: Smarters can show several channels at once on bigger screens, which is handy on busy sports nights. Each stream uses bandwidth, so check your speed first.
Parental control: set a password in the parental control settings and lock any category, including adult categories. Our parental controls guide covers this in detail.
Once you are logged in, the home screen has four main areas: Live TV, Movies, Series and Catch-up. A few habits make it faster:
You can install Smarters on every TV, phone and tablet in the house and log in with the same details. The limit is how many streams play at the same moment: each live stream uses one connection on your plan. If two people regularly watch at the same time, add a second connection rather than sharing one, or the first stream will stop when the second starts. Check the IPTV subscription plans for connection options.
The electronic programme guide is the grid of what is on now and next. With an Xtream Codes login, Smarters downloads it automatically. Three things affect it:
Availability of Smarters on Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs changes by model and year. Search the TV's own app store first. If it is not there, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device plugged into the TV gives you the full Android version, usually with a faster guide than the TV's own processor can manage.
On Android and Fire TV the app is called IPTV Smarters Pro; on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV the App Store version is Smarters Player Lite. Both log in the same way with Xtream Codes or an M3U playlist, and both play live TV, movies and series. The Apple version has a simpler menu and fewer settings, so if something in this guide is missing on your iPhone, look for it under the app's settings icon or skip it; the basics work the same.
Keep the app updated from the same place you installed it. If you installed it with Downloader on a Fire TV, check the developer's site every few months for a newer version. Never install a "modified" copy from a file-sharing site; those versions are a common way to spread malware, as the Get Cyber Safe device guidance warns.
http:// or the port number. If you use Apple devices or a computer, IPTV Smarters is the obvious choice because TiviMate only runs on Android. If everything in your home is Android-based (Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV), many people prefer TiviMate's cable-style guide. Our TiviMate setup guide shows the same login in TiviMate, and a Digital IPTV subscription works in both.
The player is free to download. Some versions show ads or offer paid upgrades. It does not include any channels; you need a subscription from an IPTV provider.
Yes. People search for it as IPTV Smarter, Smarters IPTV or Smarters Pro; it is the same player app.
The server URL from your provider's activation email, copied exactly, including http:// and the port number after the colon.
Yes, but only as many at the same time as your plan's connections allow. Each Digital IPTV plan includes one connection, and more can be added.
Refresh the EPG from settings, wait a minute for it to load, and make sure your device's date, time and time zone are correct.
